Animals of all shapes and sizes have always been a part of my life. Growing up in a household where humans were outnumbered by various types of pets was always the norm for me. My life is currently shared with my soulmate (and husband!) Tristan, our 3 domineering cats and one beautiful pooch from Mexico. I have dedicated my life to understanding and caring for our furry, scaly and feathered friends.
I discovered photography as an art when I was 15. With a 3 megapixel Kodak camera, I captured what I saw. My most common subjects being nature. Of course, I enrolled in high school photography 11 and 12. Using a vintage Ricoh SLR, I learned to appreciate film. I wound, shot and developed my own film. From there I spent countless hours learning how to process photos using chemistry and light exposure. This knowledge has been a great foundation to me.
Eventually I upgraded my camera and honed my craft through lighting courses and as a set stills photographer for several indie projects shot in Vancouver. I have had the privilege of working with and learning from some of the most tremendously creative souls.
My desire to capture precise moments and the personality or mood of my subjects is what drives me to create, my quiet patience is what helps me to bond with my subject. My dream is to create images that you will cherish forever.
